Terms and Conditions


AGREEMENT – This agreement between Life Style Photography (Pty) Ltd. (hereafter “Photographer”) and the Client (hereafter “Client”) governs the assignment described in any and all written and verbal communication, and along with these terms & conditions, constitutes the entire agreement between the parties concerning that agreement.


ESTIMATE – The fees quoted by the Photographer are for the original job description as presented by the Client. Any subsequent changes, whether made orally or in writing, may result in additional charges. The photography brief sent to the Client is a good faith estimate of the time and expenses that the Photographer anticipates. The Client understands and agrees that the Photographer will bill for actual time and expenses incurred, which may be greater than what was originally quoted.


ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS – The Client understands that the photography brief does not include additional requirements such as extra equipment, extra travel, or additional image/shot requests not included in the original proposal. All such additional requirements will need to be made in writing, via email, at least 2 weeks before the project commencement date. All additional fees relating to these requests will need to be agreed upon before commencement of the project.


PAYMENT – A booking fee will be required to initiate the project, and will be payable upon acceptance of the proposal. The Client will make final payment within 7 days of final invoice. Late payments will incur a charge of R350.00 per month handling fee as well as 2% interest of the invoice total per month from due date of invoice until full payment is made. Final delivery of images will only be made to the Client once full payment has been received.


CANCELLATIONS/POSTPONEMENTS – In the event of a cancellation or postponement of a shoot by the Client, the Client shall be liable to pay a cancellation or postponement fee based on expenses incurred by the Photographer.

  • If a shoot is cancelled within 24 hours of the departure time for the shoot, the Client shall be liable to pay 75% of the shoot fee plus additional expenses incurred, such as equipment and venue hire.
  • If a shoot is cancelled within 7 working days of the shoot date, the Client shall be liable to pay 50% of the shoot fee plus additional expenses incurred, such as equipment and venue hire.
  • If a shoot is postponed within 7 working days of the shoot date, the Client shall be liable for a postponement fee of R800.00. Maximum number of postponements is 2 per specific shoot.


CLIENT REPRESENTATION – The Client is responsible for the presence of an authorized representative at the shoot to be available to assist the photographer in terms relating to the shoot. Should a representative not be present, the Photographer’s direction shall be deemed acceptable.


AUTHORSHIP CREDIT – A credit in the name of the Photographer shall accompany her photographs wherever practical.


INDEMNIFICATION – The client hereby indemnifies and hold the Photographer harmless against any and all liabilities, claims, and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees, arising from the Client’s use of the Photographer’s work. The Photographer similarly indemnifies and holds the Client harmless against any and all liabilities, claims and expenses, including reasonable attorney’s fees, arising from the Photographer’s negligence.


TURNAROUND TIME – The normal turnaround time of 3 weeks from shoot date shall apply, but consideration will need to be taken into account for the size of a full project. The Photographer shall remain in communication with the client regarding the status and availability of the final product and will endeavour to process the work/s within the above stated time, should it not compromise the quality of the final product. Any rush service required will be quoted at an additional cost.


POST-PRODUCTION EDITING – All final processed files will require basic post-production (blemishes, colour correction, global refinement) before the images are released to the Client. Any additional retouching or advanced editing requested by the Client will be billed at an additional R450.00 per hour. NOTE: RAW files will not be released to the Client and remain the property of the Photographer.


ADDITIONAL EXPENSES – Any reasonable, additional expenses incurred by the Photographer in direct relation to the project shall be billed to the Client, following fair communication of such, i.e. extra travel, accommodation required, meals and refreshments, parking fees, and such.


WORKING RELATIONSHIPS – Where the Photographer is to be working with staff and/or models for any particular shoot, these are requested to be sent the full brief as agreed between the Photographer and the Client. Any delays, postponements or cancellations occurring as a result of staff/models used, shall be billed for by the Photographer as stated above.


MARKETING AND PROMOTION – The Photographer reserves the right to use any and all imagery produced for their clients in their own marketing services. This includes social media marketing, online listings, printing, online and offline advertising and all other marketing campaigns. Should the Client specifically require an amendment to this point, they will need to advise the photographer, in writing, at least 7 working days prior to the shoot date.


ACCEPTANCE – The payment of the booking fee (stipulated on proposal or invoice) constitutes the Client’s acceptance of the above terms and conditions.
